We are delighted for our colleague Professor Fai Ng, who has been appointed as Director of the NIHR Newcastle Clinical Research Facility (CFR).

As Deputy Lead for the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre's Musculoskeletal Disease theme, Professor Ng's appointment will bring even more synergy between the vital elements of translational research, as well as the NIHR infrastructure in Newcastle.

He comments:

My aspiration is to create an externally facing, world class facility that supports research and is strategically important for the University and NUTH, and to build a thriving environment for staff development in translational research.
