Brand templates

The NIHR brand is made up of the logo, colour palette, typography, photography, graphic assets, and the icon and illustration style. When these elements are brought together in a managed and consistent way, we create an engaging and diverse range of visual and verbal communications which will have a powerful impact.

To help you follow the visual identity and brand, we have collated a set of templates for you to download. For more information about the brand and the architecture, follow the links below.

NIHR brand guidelines

NIHR brand architecture

Here’s a few important points to note:

  1. The name of our BRC has changed
This should be reflected in all communication going forward. The name and format of the name is as follows: NIHR Biomedical Research Centre: Newcastle
  2. The logo has changed
Logos were circulated a few months ago so hopefully you have already been using the new logo for some time. The old logo must not be used in any materials (digital or hardcopy) at all so please update to the new logo asap if you haven’t already done so.
  3. Fonts and colour palette have changed
Please refer to the brand guidelines. The new font for running text (Inclusive Sans) is freely available on Google Fonts, and Archia for headlines only will be distributed through us. Brand architecture guidelines are also available setting out how the brand is structured. Please refer to these when designing branded materials.
  4. All digital branding must be updated by 31 July
We have prepared some documents for you to dowload including PowerPoint slides, social media templates, poster templates, and Teams backgrounds below. Please begin using these versions immediately. Versions of these documents that you’ve been sent previously have been updated, please do not use these versions.
  5. Hardcopy materials should now be discontinued
Please immediately discontinue using any printed materials featuring the old brand, including banners, leaflets etc.

If you have any questions or if you need any support implementing the new brand, please contact

BRC Communications Manager, Melina Dieckgräber
