McArdle Chair in Ageing, Professor of Translational Epidemiology, BRC Theme Leadership Track for Ageing, Sarcopenia and Multimorbidity and BRC Interdisciplinary Research Academic Lead

Rachel co-leads the AGE Research Group and is the academic lead for Interdisciplinary Research within the NIHR Newcastle BRC.  She is also BRC Leadership Track for the Ageing, Sarcopenia and Multimorbidity (ASM) Research Theme, co-director of Newcastle University's Centre of Research Excellence (NUCoRE) for Ageing and co-leads the Health Inequalities Group within the Multiple Long-Term Conditions Cross-NIHR Collaboration.

Rachel applies her expertise in life course epidemiology to research on ageing, sarcopenia and multiple long-term conditions. By facilitating work across disciplines, she aims to ensure effective translation of research evidence into patient and public benefit.
