Research Assistant
Marta is a Research Assistant based in Prof. Muzz Haniffa’s Lab. She is involved mainly in the wet lab side of various projects but with particular focus on skin in health and disease. Within the laboratory she is mostly working with single cell and spatial transcriptomic methods. Recently, she started a PhD under primary supervision of Dr Emily Stephenson on rare skin disease - cutaneous mastocytosis. Using single cell transcriptomics, the main aim is to gain more understanding into the pathogenesis of this disease.
Marta received her BSc Honours in Biomedical Science from Northumbria University and her MRes degree in Immunobiology from Newcastle University.
