NIHR Newcastle BRC PhD Student
Claire Wilkinson graduated in 2025 from Strathclyde University with a B Eng in Biomedical engineering. She then started her PhD at Newcastle University with the Brain and Movement group. Her project focuses on using wearable sensors to understand what turning can tell us about the presentation and progression of Parkinson's disease. Turning is a challenging movement for people with Parkinson's Disorder due to the need for multi-segmented coordination and the real time monitoring of this could prove to be a sensitive marker for the overall condition of people with Parkinson's disorder.
