With over 80 delegates from a wide range of stakeholders in attendance the day was designed to accelerate innovation and strengthen pathways to real-world implementation by providing meaningful opportunities for industry partners to engage with the MLTC CNC workstreams and partners. By bringing industry representatives, clinicians, researchers, people living with MLTC and their carers, alongside wider health and care leaders from across the UK and NIHR infrastructure partners, the MLTC CNC is helping to address priority challenges in MLTC Research through collaboration.

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to explore three main objectives:
Prof Avan Aihie Sayer, Prof Wendy Tindale and Kim Down set the scene for the day by showcasing how industry can engage with the MLTC CNC, NIHR, NHS, and other partners, offering insights into innovation, adoption and implementation from both academic and real-world perspectives.
Each of the three MLTC CNC workstreams presented their key challenges to delegates followed by an engaging Q&A panel. A clear theme was the need to provide structured opportunities for industry partners to engage directly with MLTC CNC workstreams and identify potential collaborative projects that will target key challenges.
Prof Kamlesh Khunti and Prof Wendy Tindale invited the audience to share experiences and lessons learned from existing academic–NHS–industry collaborations to inform the development of future MLTC CNC industry seed funding.
The afternoon session focussed on successful implantation in practice and delegates heard from our expert panel who shared their experiences of collaborative working in the MTLC space.
Panellists included:Professor Wendy Tindale; Ravi Chana, ABHI; Dace Dimza-Jones, Department of Business and Trade; Kim Down, NIHR; Beth Loudon, BIVDA; Professor Richard Morriss, University of Nottingham and Avideh Nazeri, Novo Nordisk
The format of the event was structured to support networking and relationship building, knowledge exchange, and alignment around shared innovation priorities. Feedback from attendees highlighted the value of connecting expertise across sectors and the importance of keeping the experiences of people living with multiple long-term conditions central to the development of future research and innovation.
We hope that the event will act as a catalyst for new partnerships, strengthened cross-sector networks, and sustained momentum for transformative innovation in MLTC research.
The MLTC CNC plans to announce an Industry collaboration seed fund in 2026.
