Chronic fatigue is one of the most disabling symptoms and most in need of improvement according to people with chronic diseases. However, what causes fatigue is not well understood and treatment available is not very effective.

Research to date suggest that chronic fatigue is likely to be a complex, multi-faceted phenomenon, so in order to tackle this important health problem, we need expertise in many different disciplines to work together with people living with chronic fatigue.

Researchers from the Musculoskeletal and Inflammation Medicine theme in the BRC are launching a new North East Fatigue Research Network.

The North East Fatigue Research Network aims to bring together researchers and people living with chronic fatigue to:

• develop research strategies
• build research capacity
• facilitate collaboration
• promote fatigue research
• maximise the impact of our fatigue research.

They are also looking to establish a steering group which includes both established and Early Career Researchers (both clinical and non-clinical), people living with chronic fatigue and other relevant stakeholders. You do not need to have prior experience in fatigue research to join the network!
